This Late 19th Century beautiful and finely woven Antique Persian Kashan Carpet features an incomparable red medallion-and-pendant cartoon spread over a burgundy field. The distinctive coffered composition focuses on a superb ogival medallion embellished with re-curving calyces and undulating ribbons. An expanse of flowers and a combination of salmon, blue and green tones adorn the fiery brick-colored ground that encircles the stunning medallion and cuts into the decorative ivory inner borders with an extraordinary level of finesse and detail, filled with a lush network of millefleur forests that complement the superlative borders. This one of a kind carpet gives the regal composition of an architectural formality infused with Persian geometry.
